Puerto Rican Merengue artist Elvis Crespo is mostly known for his smash hit 'Suavemente' which blew up charts in Latin America and the United States a couple years ago has gotten into some problems this week. A woman has accused Crespo of masturbating on a plane that was flying from Houston, Texas to Miami, Florida. The woman claimed that she was sitting next to Crespo on the plane ride and soonly after noticed him masturbating shortly after the plane took flight. She had this to say:“He covered himself with a blanket and began to masturbate and while he was masturbating he removed the blanket and exposed himself,” Here is the police report of such incident.The artist has denied the claims against him and has said that he "doesn't remember doing that". He appeared yesterday in Premios Lo Nuestro. Also here is his new single that has been getting a lot of airplay on Reggaeton 94 titled 'Me Gusta, Me Gusta' which is said to have a remix coming soon featuring the King of Kings himself Don Omar.

Review: Alexis y Fido - Down To Earth

Alright time for another review. Shortly after releasing their album 'Sobrenatural' in 2007 'Los Pitbulls' better known as Alexis y Fido, stated that they were going back to their reggaeton roots on their next album. The first promotional song released was 'Subete' which even though was catchy and futuristic, was not what most fans expected. Soon after they released 'Ojos Que No Ven' which was another catchy song with a techno-like beat. At first my expectations went from very high to not so high. Yesterday the duo decided to premiere their album via the social network MySpace, this method of leaking albums is very common among American artists and is a great idea if you ask me. It gave the fans a chance to listen to the album before it hit shelves on one of the most popular websites on the internet. I listened to the album and I really enjoyed it. Most of the songs have dembow and had some crazy production by producers like Yai y Toly, Nely 'El Arma Secreta', Tainy, Diesel and Master Chris. They kept their word of staying to their reggaeton roots while still keeping up with the new trends in the genre, it fits perfectly with their album title 'Down to Earth'. The song 'No La Debes Tocar' featuring Toby Love has a great message behind it, on the topic of domestic violence. It also features some street songs, some love songs and some club bangers. The album releases March 31st!

Review: LDA - Revolucionando El Genero

Ok people so I know this album released last Tuesday but I didn't have the chance to listen to it until yesterday so here is my review. Ever since I heard the first Chosen Few album I remember listening to the songs LDA had on there and wanting more. This was the first, and only time I had heard a reggaeton duo that consisted of a male and female artist. This makes for a great chemistry that only a man and a women can do musically. So this year the duo finally dropped their album 'Revolucionando El Genero'. Let me tell you guys this album has it all, tropical music, hip hop, reggaeton and even some rock! Orquidella Negra and Baby Psycho did a great job on this album. This duo is very versatile and prove it with this album. When most albums feature 12-14 songs this one has 19 now that is what I call an album. I have a really good feeling about reggaeton this year if this keeps up! 'Revolucionando El Genero' released last Tuesday and is available via Amazon, iTunes and stores near you so make sure to support this duo and pick it up aight!

Wisin y Yandel made an appearance on the Mexican soap opera 'Verano De Amor' while doing some performances there. The novela features the artists from the group Rebelde. If you remember they made a collaboration before on the song 'Lento'. The dynamic duo is said to make a cameo as themselves, with the main characters attending a WY concert in Mexico, being invited on stage by the duo. The novela has made it's debut in Mexico in late February which means it will be premiering in the United States much later.

Tito 'El Bambino' has recently recorded a new version of his smash hit 'El Amor' featuring Mexican superstar Jenni Rivera. Tito had this to say about the collaboration: 'We did the remix with her last week in Los Angeles and it was a great pleasure being able to work with such a great person'. He also added that he had always wanted to work with Rivera because he admired her not only as an artist but also as a human being. The track is a soft Hip Hop more of an R&B type. Its not what I usually listen to but it is catchy and of course its Randy Nota Loka. I think this was supposed to go on Romances De Una Nota and it'll probably go into the next Jowell & Randy album or just stay as a single release. The track is pretty high quality and its alot better than the other versions roaming the internet. If anyone knows who the other artist is, please let us know.

This is more proof that Colombia is doing well in the urban music business, so well that they even got Puertoricans wanting to do songs with them. The video came out nice and the way the pictures portrayed it. The quality, although hard to tell online, was great. The ladies were super fine as always. The only bad things were that it took place in the same place and Pipe Calderon looked like a wannabe Naldo. Everything else, including the song, was very well done.

Well, it has been almost a month since we last updated all of you with Reggaeton News.
So here we go!

Wisin & Yandel

Since last time we reported, a lot has gone good for Wisin & Yandel. They released that crazy snippet of a song featuring Akon and Aventura, "All Up To You". That song promises to be a summer hit. Their single "Me Estas Tentando" has just reached Number 1 in the Billboards Hot Latin Songs, making it their 6th Number 1 on the US charts! They have overshadowed their negatives which involve recently going to court for charges involving illegal money and local concerts. They are in Las Vegas this week recording their next music video with Yomo, the Remix to "Descara" and just wrapped up recording the first scene with 50 Cent for the next promising hit, Mujeres En El Club! A BIG congratulations to Wisin and his wife Yomaira Ortiz, they are expecting another, this time to a baby boy! And for La Revolucion....? If you guys hadn't heard the news, Wisin & Yandel made a bet with Don Omar worth $500,000 on who would sell the most CDs. La Revolucion vs iDon? Sounds like my kind of competition. Don Omar will also premiere the video The Chosen: Virtual Diva, coming Tuesday, March 17th OFFICIALLY on MySpace. It's going to be basically a 10 minute short movie.

Erre XI

This Duo has been busy doing concerts and working on their Sophomore album, ErreVolucion XI. They currently are in Miami for part of their ErreVolucion XI tour. The big news is that Lionize (half of the duo) will be working with the Big Boss himself to record a song called "La Soka" for Daddy Yankee Mundial.

Alexis & Fido

Mr. A y Senor F have been hard at work getting an early start promoting their new cd, Down To Earth, scheduled for a March 31st Release. Their first single, "Ojos Que No Ven", despite being a futuristic and not a traditional Reggaeton song has become an instant hit.

Jowell & Randy

Expect that new music video "Porque Estas Sola" to come out very soon. Also the word running arround is that Jowell & Randy are know signed to Universal Records. Their solo albums Romances De Una Nota for Randy, and El + Suelto for Jowell have been cancelled rumors say. They are working on a album as a duo called El Momento said to release next month. Ironic, isn't it? Lol.

Eloy

The teenager Reggaeton singer is negotiating with Luny Tunes to get signed with Mas Flow. (Damn, can Mas Flow get any more stars? They have an All Star line-up with producers and now signing another artist to go along with big name stars Arcangel & Erre XI is a great idea. When Mas Flow 3 comes out this year, expect nothing less than a masterpiece)

Chris Brown & Rihanna

I know I know, this couple has nothing to do with Reggaeton (at least not yet). It's probably the biggest news now in days in the American Music Industry, the crazy stuff that they have been through in the past weeks. Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna, and was charged and could be facing jail time. Rihanna has forgiven him and there are many more rumors here and there. Get this though, they will be recording a song together for Chris Brown's next album, Graffitti, which they started before the incident and just finished earlier this week. And the theme? Overcoming and becoming stronger from obstacles in a relationship.
